Starbucks Fall Menu 2026 Is Here — And It’s Way More Than Just a Pumpkin Spice Latte

August 25th did not arrive at Starbucks quietly, as it usually does. By the middle of the morning, the green-aproned baristas at locations all over the nation were handling a familiar surge—the kind that occurs once a year when a particular orange-tinted drink reappears on the menu board. The Pumpkin Spice Latte has returned. Even though it has been returning every fall for over 20 years, people still line up as if it might not happen again.

However, the PSL is essentially irrelevant this year. With six new drinks joining a returning cast of seasonal favorites, the Starbucks fall menu 2026 is actually more expansive than it has been in recent memory. It’s not a small expansion. That’s a complete seasonal makeover dressed up in cold foam and cinnamon sugar, and it’s important to focus on what’s genuinely novel rather than sticking to the same order out of habit.

The beverage receiving the most attention is the Iced Pumpkin Cream Shaken Espresso, and it most likely merits it. In between the traditional PSL and the more coffee-forward shaken espresso format Starbucks has been developing over the past few years is Blonde Espresso, which is shaken with brown sugar syrup and cinnamon, poured over oat milk and ice, and then topped with pumpkin cream cold foam.

It feels accurate to describe it as “a PSL for espresso fans,” as early reviewers have done. With this one, it seems like Starbucks is attempting to appeal to a slightly different clientele—someone who desires the seasonal flavor without the typical latte’s degree of sweetness.

The wild card is the Iced Pumpkin Cream Matcha. On paper, matcha and pumpkin seem like an odd combination—earthy green tea beneath an orange-colored foam. However, Starbucks has quietly mastered the use of cold foam as a flavor delivery system, and the majority of those who have tried it seem taken aback by how well it works. The top is creamy and sweet, while the bottom is more grounded and cool. It’s unclear if this drink will last past this season, but if you want to make a statement about what you ordered, it’s worth a try.

Then there’s the lineup of banana breads, which may be the most surprising addition to Starbucks’ 2026 fall menu. Both the Iced Banana Bread Latte and Iced Banana Bread Chai use a banana-flavored syrup to mimic the flavor of freshly baked banana bread, including brown sugar cream cold foam and a dusting of cinnamon dolce. According to most early reports, the result is remarkably similar to the real thing. For a few years now, the coffee industry has been subtly gravitating toward bakery-inspired drinks, and this seems to be Starbucks making a formal commitment to that trend rather than merely experimenting.

The Chaider, a chai-meets-cider hybrid with warm autumn spices that leans cozy without being dependent on pumpkin, is arguably the most conceptually intriguing new beverage. In a lineup dominated by orange foam, it’s easy to ignore, but for those weary of the pumpkin overload, it might turn out to be the season’s sleeper hit. It’s difficult to ignore the fact that Starbucks is subtly developing a second fall lane that doesn’t require everyone to be a pumpkin lover.

For something that is essentially a cake pop, the Hedgehog Cake Pop—vanilla cake and buttercream dipped in chocolate icing—has already produced a disproportionate amount of social media content. The Chicken Bacon Protein Pocket on warm lavash flatbread appears to be targeted at the lunch crowd that Starbucks has been working harder to attract in recent years, while the Pumpkin Cream Cheese Muffin is a recurring favorite for loyal customers. It remains to be seen if the savory push truly connects with consumers on the same level as the drinks.

This year’s campaign emphasizes self-aware nostalgia. Martha Stewart’s appearance with Off Campus star Belmont Cameli to subtly inquire as to whether the PSL makes everyone a little “basic” is the kind of marketing that works precisely because it recognizes what everyone is already thinking. Starbucks has always recognized that the first morning that feels like fall, even though it’s still officially summer, contributes to what consumers purchase in September. Just the vehicle is the menu. The product is the season.
