Harvey Price Weight Loss Injections – Katie’s Long Battle Finally Pays Off

There are times in a parent’s life that are difficult to put into words. Sometime in the last few years, Katie Price experienced one of those moments when she sat across from medical professionals and, according to her own account, pled with them to assist her son. Not out of conceit. Not for aesthetic reasons. Because she truly feared that he might not survive.

The 24-year-old Harvey Price has experienced a variety of circumstances throughout his life that would put anyone to the test. At the center of it all is Prader-Willi syndrome, a rare genetic disorder that basically rewires the brain’s hunger signals, leaving sufferers feeling starved almost all the time, regardless of how much they’ve actually eaten. Prader-Willi weight management doesn’t require self-control or determination. It was never the case. However, as Harvey’s case has been made public over the years, there has been a frustrating feeling that the speed of the system surrounding him hasn’t always kept up with the urgency of his condition.

That seems to be shifting. Harvey will start taking Mounjaro, the brand name for tirzepatide, a weekly injection approved in the UK for weight management in eligible adults, the former glamor model revealed on a recent episode of The Katie Price Show podcast. She stated that his current BMI is 59. To put that in perspective, an obese person has a BMI of 27. Harvey’s is more than twice as much. According to Katie, he weighs almost thirty stone, which makes walking any significant distance nearly impossible and putting on shoes a sweaty exercise. “I can’t wait,” she said on the podcast, sounding both relieved and exhausted. “Then he can do the rollercoasters, he can do more, walk more and have more energy.” Rollercoasters are an oddly specific wish, but something very real exists in that particular detail. Fitting into a dress size is not the issue here. It concerns a young man’s ability to engage with everyday life.

Compared to earlier weight-loss medications, Mounjaro functions differently. Compared to previous single-receptor medications like semaglutide, which is marketed under the brand names Ozempic and Wegovy, tirzepatide targets two hormone receptors at once—GIP and GLP-1—producing stronger appetite suppression. This dual mechanism may be significant for a person with Prader-Willi syndrome, whose body basically refuses to register fullness. For a condition that has traditionally left families with few pharmaceutical options, it may be possible to regulate hunger more effectively by focusing on both pathways. Harvey’s response is still unknown, but the medical staff reportedly intends to keep a close eye on him and modify his dosage as they evaluate his progress over the course of what may be a two-year course of treatment.

Ozempic was first proposed by Katie in early 2025, when Harvey was 22 years old and supposedly weighed 28 stones. She publicly raised the possibility of a heart attack at the time, calling the situation “really serious.” The years that have passed since then seem like a long wait—dietitians were consulted, tactics were tried, and systems were negotiated. She has consistently stated that when the brain is wired to constantly demand more, food restriction on its own just doesn’t work.

About one in 15,000 people have Prader-Willi syndrome, which is still one of the less well-known genetic disorders in terms of public awareness, even though the community of families who live with it quietly accumulates challenging experiences. Perhaps unintentionally, Harvey’s public persona has raised awareness of what it’s like to live with the illness daily: the weariness, the need for caution when eating, and the psychological and physical toll on all those affected.

Due to septo-optic dysplasia, a disorder that affects early brain and eye development, Harvey also has autism and is partially blind. Because of this combination, every new treatment adds a new level of complexity. It’s difficult to overlook the fact that Katie has been the driving force behind ensuring that a weekly injection protocol is monitored in a person with multiple conditions.

Beyond the celebrity aspect, this is worthwhile. Discussions about obesity are changing as a result of the increased accessibility of medications like Wegovy and Mounjaro, including who can obtain them, under what circumstances, and what qualifies as medical necessity. These drugs are more than just a fad for families with genetic disorders that make diet alone structurally impossible to manage weight. It remains to be seen if Harvey’s treatment represents a paradigm shift or merely a promising phase. However, Katie Price appears to feel that someone has finally paid attention to her after years of conflict.

She's spent years eating her way across the UK — from roadside chippies to countryside gastropubs — and writing about what she finds there with the kind of honest enthusiasm that doesn't require a Michelin star to appreciate good food. At Friar Street Kitchen, Tiffany covers everything from everyday cooking questions and British supermarket staples to the bigger conversations happening around food, health, and how we eat. Her writing tends to start in the kitchen and end up somewhere more interesting — because that's usually where food takes you if you pay attention. When she's not testing recipes or digging into the latest food trend, she's probably debating the correct way to make a proper cup of tea.
