Lacnola Lactation Granola Pulled From Amazon Over Salmonella Contamination Fears

The Lacnola Lactation Granola, a product made to help with breastfeeding, is now the subject of a nationwide Salmonella recall. It was taken off the shelves and marked as contaminated by the FDA after a problem was found with a single ingredient supplier.

    What This Article Covers

    • Which Lacnola Lactation Granola products are affected and how to spot them in your pantry.
    • How a single contaminated ingredient from a supplier triggered a nationwide Amazon recall.
    • What to do right now if you bought this product — and who faces the highest health risk.

It was posted on August 14, 2026, by The Hampton Grocer, Inc., a small-batch granola brand based in Montauk, New York. The FDA said that Salmonella could be present in some 8-ounce packages of Lacnola Lactation Granola. Between October 21, 2025, and August 12, 2026, the faulty item was sold all over the country on the company’s website, Amazon, and other online stores. It will be sent out for almost ten months.

The contamination wasn’t found through reports of illness. At least some people have said they are not sick, which is some comfort. A supplier, Food to Live, told The Hampton Grocer that the organic moringa leaf powder, a green superfood ingredient used in the Lacnola product, had tested positive for salmonella. This is how the problem was found. The granola that had that same powder in it was marked right away.

Two lot codes are HGLC-102125, which ends on October 21, 2026, and HGLC-021326, which ends on February 13, 2027. It says both in black ink on the upper left corner of the back of the unique pink stand-up pouches (UPC 850035324554). While the FDA and the company work through the investigation, production has been stopped.

Samantha Sherman started The Hampton Grocer in 2020 with a recipe for cinnamon-dried cherry granola that had been passed down through her husband’s family. It’s the kind of origin story that feels right for the time: a small food business started during a pandemic that grew into something real.

She started the Lacnola line in early 2025 because it was hard for her to find healthy snacks while she was breastfeeding. All signs pointed to it being a personal project that turned into a product. Because of that, this recall seems a little more complicated than a normal company notice about food safety.

People who bought this product are more likely to have been infected with salmonella, which is not something to take lightly. Within the FDA’s own words in the recall notice, it was made clear that the bacteria can infect and sometimes kill young children, the elderly, and people whose immune systems aren’t working well. New moms and babies should be carefully protected because they often don’t get enough sleep and their immune systems can become weak after giving birth.

Usually, six hours to six days after contact, people who have been exposed to Salmonella start to feel sick and have stomach cramps, nausea, vomiting, and diarrhea that may contain blood.

Most adults who are healthy get better on their own within a week. Still, this is the kind of infection that can spread quickly in weak people, and the fact that this product was marketed to people who are caring for newborns makes the risk of contamination seem even greater than usual.

People who bought the affected packages should throw them away right away and call the store where they bought them to get a full refund. A direct call to 201-820-8789 during business hours, Tuesday through Thursday, can also be made to The Hampton Grocer.

Right now, this recall comes at a time when there have been many food safety alerts in the US. Around the same time, a Walmart tomato bisque soup was recalled because it might have contained listeria. Egg recalls have been common all year. Supply chain weakness keeps showing up in strange places, even in health-conscious products. This doesn’t make people panic, but it does make them feel uneasy. It doesn’t seem like you’d have to worry about a gluten-free, clean-label lactation granola made with organic moringa. However.

It’s still not clear if this contamination on the part of the supplier affected any other products besides the Lacnola line. As the FDA investigation goes on, that question is likely to become clearer.
